16.     The Fishing Skipper will be called to arbitrate in any fishing dispute while afloat. If the fishing

skipper is unable to reach a decision to the satisfaction of all parties involved, then that decision shall be

postponed until such time as a quorum of committee members can be convened.

17.      In the interests of conservation, Skate and Tope need not be bought on board unless their size is in

dispute – i.e. they can be cut free at the side of the boat if required and it is safe to do so.

18.      Where there are suitable weighing scales, fish may be weighed after landing and returned alive.

The Fishing Skipper is responsible for the weighing and recording of any fish that are returned, or just

19.      Where the Fishing Skipper is compromised by having to record or weigh his / her own fish, then

another competitor will closely monitor the actions of the Fishing Skipper.

the committee.

21.     The Fishing Skipper may fish in competitions.

25.       Any anglers throwing overboard litter, fishing line or other items likely to cause a hazard to

wildlife or the environment may face disqualification from that competition or being suspended from subsequent boat trips if the committee deem it appropriate.

26.      All fish are to be measured on the measuring sticks if their size is in dispute. The fork of

the tail is to cross the relevant line, when the snout of the fish is against the upright end of the measuring stick. The only

27.     All fish must be ‘in size’ at the time of weighing in.

30.      If there are no ‘Competition Approved’ scales available for weighing fish, then the fish is to be frozen, then weighed at the earliest possible opportunity at any Post Office in the presence of at least one other club member who was present at the time of landing that fish. Alternatively, the fish may be frozen, then weighed aboard Javelin at the next opportunity, if within 14 days of landing. Competition Approved scales refers to any scales normally used aboard Javelin.

31.      Fish must be ‘complete’ if being entered as either a Specimen weight or as a part of a ‘competition bag’.
